Summer

The summer period runs from the end of post spawn until fall, it is typically defined by the period when the surface water temperatures reach about 80 or higher consistently through out the lake.  On Lake Shannon this usually occurs in late June to early July. 

One of the nice things about Lake Shannon is that during the summer there is not a large difference in water temperature in the shallows vs. in the deeper water.  Consequently the bait fish stay evenly distributed and largemouth bass can be caught in shallow water cover or on deep water structure (humps, ledges, roadbeds, etc).  Click the links below for tips on these two different ways of fishing for Lake Shannon's summer bass:
