Fall

The Fall period begins when the surface water temperatures begin to cool from their summer levels and lasts until winter draw down.  Once the water temps reach the mid 70’s and lower the bass will begin to feed aggressively in preparation for winter.

Much like the Pre Spawn period this is a great time to catch lots of fish and big fish.  Spinner baits, Chatterbaits and lipless crankbaits worked around the weeds just outside of the shallow water will work well.

Large schools of largemouths often form on the lake’s deep water structure during this time of year, particularly around the old river channel on the north side of “The Narrows”.  Deep running crankbaits, spinner baits & chatterbaits along with jig & pig and carolina rigs will work well on these schooling bass.
