The Spawn

Largemouths typically spawn when surface water temperatures reach the mid 60's.  As noted earlier this will occur in different parts of the lake at different times.

The spawning period is a good time to go and find fish that are still in pre spawn mode.  Leaving the bass alone to breed will ensure great fishing on Lake Shannon for years to come.

If you do catch spawning bass (indicated by roughed up tails from fanning beds or bellies swollen with eggs) release the fish immediately as close to where you caught them as possible.
